I think it has to do something with my drivers. After 12 hours of trying to fix it I must have messed something up because now the wheel doesn't workĪt all. The only thing originally wrong with it was the force feedback. I had the wheel working for the most part. At 100% center spring tension while driving slowly the wheel returns to center in a very snappy fashion, I can feel the springs working, resisting me when I turn the wheel left or right.First. If there are better options, I am all ears. Over steer is considerably more controllable for me with some centering tension versus with it disabled. Centering spring also allows me what I feel is a much finer control over the car. Utilizing centering spring tension is simply my attempt at creating a more realistic driving experience with this lowly G29. Thank you for creating such an amazing driving experience in AC.

Without question Assetto Corsa rises above them all.

GTL which I regarded as the best racing simulator I've ever had the pleasure of beta testing. I've been around to drive everything from the original NASCAR Racing title from Papyrus to Grand Prix Legends. Far from me to debate with you or anyone at Kunos the technical aspects of Assetto Corsa or how it interfaces with hardware. Stefano, I have a tremendous amount of respect for what you and everyone at Kunos have achieved and continue to achieve with Assetto Corsa. Very soon I plan to purchase a Fanatec CSW which will hopefully give me a smoother and more realistic feel. First its an attempt to reduce how pronounced the deadzone is in AC and 2nd its to replicate the tension of a steering wheel in a real car.Īt 0% centering spring the G29 is far too loose and feels nothing like a real steering wheel. So my reasoning for enabling centering spring is twofold. So I can only assume this is not any issue with my hardware. In sims such as Raceroom, iRacing and even games like Project Cars the dead zone is much less pronounced, almost non existent. Is the dead zone a consequence of the nuanced and communicative FFB in AC? Is there anyway to decrease the amount of dead zone ? The downside for me is the steering dead zone I'm not able to dial out. AC has by far the most communicative FFB of any sim I've driven. Allow me to preface this with the fact that I am using a custom LUT although I can't imagine that could have any affect on the centering spring not being disabled in AC. If AC is supposed to disable centering spring, clearly something is awry with my install. The wheel has noticeable less tension and doesn't snap back to center anywhere near as quickly. 8.83.85), relaunch AC and drive the same car slowly the centering spring tension is drastically different.

If I exit AC change the centering spring tension to 0% in the Logitech Software (ver. At 100% center spring tension while driving slowly the wheel returns to center in a very snappy fashion, I can feel the springs working, resisting me when I turn the wheel left or right.
